Olise Sparkles as Crystal Palace Ends Winless Streak with 3-1 Victory Over Brentford

In a thrilling encounter at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace broke their eight-game winless streak with a spectacular 3-1 victory over Brentford. Michael Olise stole the show with a brace, while Eberechi Eze also found the net, securing a comeback win for the Eagles.

The match, officiated by referee Robert Jones, unfolded with a dream start for Brentford as Keane Lewis-Potter scored within 90 seconds. However, Palace responded swiftly, with Olise acrobatically finishing a cross from Jordan Ayew in the 14th minute.

Palace's momentum continued, and they took the lead in the 39th minute through Eze, who confidently slotted the ball past goalkeeper Mark Flekken. Just before the break, Brentford had a nervy moment when Ethan Pinnock's backpass nearly resulted in an own goal.

The second half belonged to Michael Olise, who showcased his brilliance with a solo effort just before the hour mark. Dribbling past two Brentford defenders, Olise found the bottom corner, securing his fourth direct goal contribution in three matches.

Despite Palace coming close to a fourth goal, Brentford fought back. Substitute Neal Maupay unleashed a powerful long shot in the 77th minute, but it struck the woodwork. The Eagles' goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, made a crucial save in the final minute to deny Maupay, securing the three points.

With this victory, Crystal Palace climbed to 13th place with 21 points, overtaking their London rivals Brentford, who now sit in 15th place with 19 points.
